A Touch of Violet is currently a 1-person operation, founded by someone who has always enjoyed sewing as a hobby.  Sewing was a way to unwind after a stressful day, and a creative outlet for her talents.  She enjoyed sewing for her children — everything from everyday clothes for school, to elaborate Halloween costumes.

When her daughter graduated from university, she needed some functional, comfortable clothes that were suitable for the business world, and asked her mother to make some clothing for her.  The dresses, coats and accessories that we now sell are all designed, tested, and refined based on that request.

After a lengthy career as a professional bookkeeper, our founder decided to make a career change and pursue sewing full-time, and sell one-of-a-kind clothing based on the designs she created for her daughter.
